NAA & NAAEI Elections

 

NAA Executive Officers Elections 

The Executive Committee consists of the following officers: Chair of the Board, Chair-Elect, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. The Executive Committee acts in accordance with the bylaws and policies of the NAA and manages the affairs of the association. New officer candidates may self-nominate and are required to complete the NAA Officer Application for consideration.  If a current officer wishes to remain on the executive committee and is seeking to move up to the next officer position, they may complete the Officer Declaration Form. The Chair-Elect is automatically appointed as Chair and is not required to declare their intention for re-election. 

Officer elections are held annually at the Assembly of Delegates in November.

NAA Officer Application for Secretary (Service in 2027)

All candidates must have served at least two full calendar years as a Regional Vice President, an at-large Board member, or as a Committee Chair with a board seat. Each officer must also be an owner, developer, builder, or operator in a senior-level position within the rental housing industry and represent a member in good standing. The Nominating Committee will recommend officers per the procedures in Appendix 8, using the officer application and declaration form. Once the Nominating Committee has held its first meeting, committee members for that year are ineligible for nomination.
Individuals who wish to be considered for the officer position of Secretary should complete an application and submit it no later than July 31st.  Applications received via any alternative method or after the deadline will not be considered.

NAA Officer Declaration Form (Service in 2027)

Current officers in the positions of Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary must submit an Officer Declaration form no later than July 31. Applications received via any alternative method or after the deadline will not be considered.

NAA Regional Vice President Elections (Odd Regions 2027-2028 term)

Qualified individuals must be either an owner, developer, builder or operator currently serving in a senior-level capacity in the rental housing industry, who are employed by or a representative of a member in good standing. Candidates that wish to be considered for the position of NAA Regional Vice President must submit an application no later than April 30th. Applications received via any alternative method or after the deadline will not be considered.

NAAEI Vice President Elections (2027-2028 term) 

All applicants must be either an owner, developer, builder or operator with broad experience in multifamily housing, employed by an NAA member company in good standing. Additionally, candidates must have demonstrated volunteer involvement with NAAEI within the past five years, either through one term on the NAAEI Board, two terms as a Committee Chair or Vice Chair, or four terms as a committee member. Partial terms are accepted if the applicant served in an open position outside of the volunteer terms and schedules.

NAAEI Regional Representative Elections (Odd Regions 2027-2028 term)

To qualify for the office of Regional Representative, candidates must be an owner, developer, builder, or operator in the rental housing industry and be employed by, or represent, a National Apartment Association (NAA) member in good standing. Individuals are not eligible for election after serving two terms, totaling four years.
